Documentation for Magento Developers

Last updated: Jun 19, 2012

I am excited to announce that I have a new book coming out!

Lately, I have been busy working on my side projects.

One that I am particularly proud of is that I have moved from Montana to San Francisco and joined the Vonnda team.

Since joining Vonnda I have learned a lot about the inner workings of Magento and how to properly develop extensions for the platform. We have really made Magento do some amazing things, but it wasn’t always easy.

When I first set out developing my first Magento extension I was shocked to find that there was a serious lack of documentation. I struggled for weeks before I could get Magento to do what I wanted. Although I did finally found some resources on developing extensions for Magento, the information was hidden across the Internet in blogs. Many of them were helpful but most were out of date. The entrepreneur in me decided it was time to create the documentation that I wish I had when I started developing Magento extensions.

I am proud to announce that Documentation for Magento Developers will be coming out Summer 2012.

The documentation will be both a reference and a quick start guide to developing your first Magento extension. It will also be a living guide with updates to support future versions of Magento so you don’t have to worry about the documentation going stale.

The DRM-free documentation will include: PDF, ePub, MOBI, TXT, source code, and several cheat sheets.
